In celebration of Mental Health Week, Innisdale Secondary School will be offering its 2nd annual presentation for parents and professionals related to mental health and well-being.  This year’s free presentation is entitled “Lived Experiences in adolescent Mental Health.”  The session will feature a panel of adolescents sharing their personal experiences with mental health challenges and will be facilitated by Dr. Leah Story.  Dr. Story is a local family physician with a specialty in youth mental health.   Our goal is to continue to break down barriers  and stigmas surrounding mental health.  We want to break the silence surrounding mental health challenges facing today’s youth.   The presentation will also provide strategies and supports that can help parents and professionals, with adolescents in their lives that are struggling with mental health.  A community carousel of agencies will be set up before and after the presentation to answer questions of access to community supports.
